Monuments to see

Eiffel Tower
The undisputed emblem of Paris, the Eiffel Tower has also become the symbol of France. Three floors offer visitors a view of the whole of Paris.

Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris
A place of worship, the cathedral is also an impressive architectural monument.

Opening hours: Monday to Saturday from 8.00 am - 6.45 pm and Sunday from 8.00 am - 7.45 pm (tours restricted on Sunday due to services).

Sacré Cœur
Offering one of the finest panoramic views of the city. Built in remembrance of the Franco-Prussian war. Can be reached via the funicular railway.

Opening hours: every day (Basilica from 6.00 am - 11.00 pm / Dome and crypt from 9.00 am - 5.45 pm).

Arc de Triomphe
Built in honour of Napoleon's victories. From the roof, a panoramic view of the 12 roads and avenues radiating from the place de l'Etoile.

Opening hours: every day from 10.00 am - 11.00 pm.

Place de la Concorde
The obelisk of Luxor takes pride of place in the centre. A gift from Muhammad Ali Pasha, Viceroy of Egypt, it took 4 long years for the obelisk to reach Paris.

Panthéon
"The Necropolis of the Great", the burial place for all the great men in the history of France.

Centre Georges Pompidou
Built at the behest of the former president of the Republic, the centre Pompidou houses a museum of national modern art, a library as well as numerous temporary exhibitions.

Palais Garnier
National Opera of Paris. This is one of the most famous dance stages. Architecture in the style of Napoleon III, including truly magnificent decorations.

Parc de la Villette / Cité des sciences et de l'industrie
A large park, which is home to theatres, a circus tent, jazz festivals and numerous events. The Cité des sciences houses permanent exhibitions.
